Our Commitment to Addressing Racial Inequality

The impact of the Black Lives Matter protests has resulted in a seismic shift in the perception of racial inequality in the United States, Canada and around the world. While there have been other moments in both the distant and recent past where we have witnessed protests and outrage and calls for change, the protests in the spring and summer of 2020 have resulted in a tipping point. The BLM movement has shone a bright light on the systemic anti-Black bias, violence and racism that afflicts our society.

We have asked ourselves, how may we best help to address this issue which is at the core of who we are and how we continue to build our society? We decided that words alone, while helpful, can be dismissed as platitudes, but words and actions together could possibly help to create and propel change.
